Gushing rivers, high altitudes, and tropical rainforests overlooking coastlines: ziplining takes on new meaning in the DR. At Samaná you’ll find the longest run in the country, with an integrated brake system—you can glide in pairs and flip upside-down at 122 meters (400 feet) above the verdant hills of El Valle. The beach is less than ten minutes away when you’re ready to cool down. Ziplining is all the rage in the hilly Puerto Plata province, from Megatrucks’ two-mile course on a private ranch, to the off-the-beaten track Yasica Adventures’ 10-platform run. Punta Cana’s adventure parks are no less adventurous—brace the longest zipline in that area at Scape Park, and take a dip in the fresh water blue hole afterwards.

Wherever you choose to stay, ziplining is a great way to take in a panoramic view of the DR’s splendid landscape.

Ideal for those seeking adventure without distance, Bávaro Adventure Park offers nature-friendly and sustainable activities such as ziplining, a climbing garden, a Segway circuit, paintball, a bungee trampoline, flight simulators, and a mountain bike track.

Caño Hondo Ziplines
Just a 20-minute drive east from the town of Sánchez, this course offers the unique opportunity to zipline inside the protected Los Haitises National Park. You’ll glide over the emerald pools of the Jibales River gushing through the resort.

A half-day adventure takes you zipping above the Anamuya jungle, on double ziplines totaling 1,310 meters (4,300 feet) in length, soaring past gigantic trees. Along the way, you’ll cross hanging bridges and enjoy hiking along a range of the park’s native flora and fauna.

This short but scenic zipline adventure takes you right over a pristine river as you glide through tropical forests. The Canopy Tour ends at an onsite spa, the perfect way to cool you down.

Ten zipline courses running a length of 1,750 meters (1,087 miles) across 20 platforms take you flying above the peninsula’s gorgeous landscapes. You’ll glide above rolling hills, dense tropical forests, and take in panoramic, distant views of Los Haitises National Park.

Laguna Dudú’s series of turquoise, freshwater lagoons surrounded with caves and lush forest will keep you swimming all day long. Rent a kayak to navigate the waters, explore one of the caves on foot, or brave the makeshift zipline at your own risk.

Home to squirrel capuchin monkeys, a seven-station zip line, a botanical garden, and an ancient Taino cave you can descend into 18 meters (60 feet) below ground. The monkeys mingle with visitors, posing for photos, and climbing on your shoulders if you choose.
