DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – SEPT. 3, 2013 – The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) celebrates its 2013 New York Yankees sponsorship at tonight’s home game at Yankee Stadium. As an official travel destination for the organization, MITUR is hosting a promotional day to share Dominican culture and excitement for baseball with fans throughout the game.

Dominican Culture to Captivate Baseball Enthusiasts at Yankee Stadium

MITUR and the Yankees organization have worked closely together to target the baseball fan base in both Dominican Republic and New York. To kick-off the event, Lucien Echavarria, Director of the Northeast Coast for MITUR, will be recognized on the field during the game to welcome fans on behalf of Dominican Republic.

“Baseball is a key ingredient of Dominican culture and history, so we are excited to align with a team that epitomizes baseball culture in the U.S.,” said Magaly Toribio, Marketing Advisor for the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism. “We highly value our partnership with the Yankees and are thankful for the opportunity to share Dominican Republic’s passion for the sport of baseball with the New Yorkers.”

The first 18,000 baseball fans to attend tonight’s game have the chance to receive a co-branded New York Yankees and Dominican Republic sunglass case. MITUR will also be highlighted throughout the stadium with baseline signage starting during the seventh inning, home plate rotating signage during the second inning, logo placement on the concourse TVs and a promotional booth featuring free brochures, pop-up banners and more.
