Dominican Republic, March 13, 2017.- The Polish tour operator Rainbow Tours announced the arrival of two new flights every three weeks, from Warsaw Airport (WAW) to Punta Cana (PUJ), starting from November 2017 until March 2018.

The information was offered by the deputy Minister of Tourism, Fausto Fernández, during the recent celebration of the International Tourism Exchange (ITB Berlin), in which he expressed the massive interest of new companies in the Caribbean destination.

“Rainbow showed incredible enthusiasm for Dominican Republic during negotiation talks, and for us this agreement is of the utmost importance, since it increases the presence and exposure of our country in the European market,” said Fernández.

He added that these flights will be operated by the Polish airline LOT, in aircraft models “Dreamliner” with capacity for 252 passengers, and a total of 15 flights will be offered for the winter season.

Meanwhile, Thomas Cook, the second largest tour operator in Germany, through a survey, forecasts a growth of 18% in the summer of 2017, and for the winter, a 3% increase in tourist reserves towards the Dominican Republic.

In addition, the FTI tour operator projects a 15% increase in the winter season on flights from Switzerland, Austria and Germany.

Finally, the Swiss airline Edelweiss Air, currently with two weekly flights to Dominican Republic, promises for May 2018 an additional flight from Switzerland.
