The familiarization trip with 120 travel agents will take place in the spring of 2018 with the registration process begins in autumn this year

Dominican Republic, March 13, 2017.- The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic signed a cooperation agreement with the German tour operator TUI, for 120 travel agents to visit the country to know the diversity of tourism offered by Quisqueya.

The agreement was signed by Fausto Fernández, deputy Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic and Mahpar Azarpira, Head of Partner Marketing of TUI Germany, in the framework of the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) 2017, held in Berlin, from last wednesday to sunday.

The familiarization trip is part of a series of events known as, “TUI Erleben Tour 2018”, where 120 travel agents will have the opportunity in mid-April of next year to explore different tourist sub-destinations in the Dominican Republic.

At the end of April 2018, 120 participants in groups of 5 to 24 people will travel with the objective of knowing the diversity of the country, as well as the segments of luxury and lifestyle promotion in the tourist regions of Bayahíbe / La Romana, Punta Cana and Samaná.

Azarpira said that Dominican Republic is a marketing partner with great potential and that the Caribbean destination is one of the most important of TUI’s in long distance booking.

“We are very pleased to have the Dominican Republic again as a partner of the TUI Erleben Tour 2018, as it offers superior hotel quality, beautiful beaches and very good value for money,” added the TUI representative.

Petra Cruz, director of Europe and the Office of Tourism Promotion (OPT) in Germany from the Mitur of the Dominican Republic, welcomed this cooperation, which took place earlier in 2013.

“We are delighted with TUI and on being second time partners of the TUI Experience Tour. This tour operator is the leader of the holiday industry in Germany, a successful communication entity and a B2B professional who plays a crucial role on presenting the user with diversity and new luxury lifestyle offers of our country, “said the Cruz.
