With renowned artists and an attendance of more than 7 thousand people, the concert season of the Amphitheater of Puerto Plata has formally begun

IMG_8116Dominican Republic, April 17, 2017.- The musical production “Puerto Plata is Alegria” formally premiered the Amphitheater of Puerto Plata, located in the park of La Puntilla in the city of Puerto Plata, this past Saturday April 15.

With an attendance of more than 7 thousand people, “Puerto Plata Alegría” was the cultural offer destined for the entertainment in Holy Week that took to scene Wilfrido Vargas, Fefita La Grande, Fernando Villalona, Sergio Vargas, Vakeró, Chiquito Team Band, Jhonny Ventura, Krisspy, Mozart La Para and Elvin Martínez, prestigious representatives of the urban, merengue, bachata and salsa genre.

IMG_8057The Amphitheater welcomed national and international spectators who gathered for this moment of great precedence for the northern city. This space created by the Ministry of Tourism has the mission of serving as a unique set for entertainment,  not only to the locals but also as an attractive and tourist magnet, where the viewer can enjoy a unique experience at the foot of the Fortress San Felipe, one of the main colonial monuments of the area, and with a background and spectacular sides that overlook the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

IMG_8096“Puerto Plata is Alegria” also had the presence of the mayor and president of the Patronage of the Amphitheater of Puerto Plata, Walter Musa, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Julio Almonte, and also outstanding figures from the social and political sphere of the Dominican Republic.
