The Tourism Promotion Office of the Dominican Republic in Puerto Rico held a tourism fair in the framework of the Dominican Festival with exhibitions, gastronomic demonstrations, handicrafts and artistic presentations in Plaza del Caribe

(San Juan, Puerto Rico, June 6, 2017) .- The Plaza del Caribe Mall in Ponce, Puerto Rico for eleven consecutive years, hosted once more the Dominican Festival 2017, the most important tourism fair of Dominican Republic in Puerto Rico, celebrated from June 1 to 4.

“With the 2017 Dominican Festival we want to bring to Puerto Rico a bit of Dominican Republic and give our brothers on this island the opportunity to get to know a little more about our country through the exhibitions of our tourist attractions, musical and artistic presentations, crafts, gastronomic tasting, and many surprises, “said Lilian D. Reyes, Director of the Office of Tourism Promotion (OPT) for Puerto Rico.

This initiative provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the great novelties and most sought after attractions around the country, showcasing unique encounters in culture, adventure, luxury, romance, nature among many more offers.

The Dominican Festival featured the demonstration of unique designs of Dominican jewelry with exclusive material of Dominican Republic, such as the larimar, creations made by the outstanding Dominican designer Dominique Calderón, who participated as a special guest in the fair.

As part of the musical performances, Javish Victoria recalled along with its group several successes of the outstanding Dominican band Conjunto Quisqueya. They were joined by the presentations of Los Alegres del Cibao, Patrulla 15, Joseph Fonseca and the Folkloric Ballet of the OPT of Puerto Rico, delighting the public with a great variety of Dominican folk rhythms and offering classes of bachata and merengue.

Informative talks were also held as part of the country’s participation, which fulfilled the purpose of providing an on-point and modernize orientation on all the offers and singularities of vacationing in the Dominican Republic.
