Air Transat to offer 20 new charter flights to the DR this fall/winter season

(Santo Domingo, September 26, 2017) – The Plenum of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) of Dominican Republic approved the request of Canadian airline Air Transat to operate 318 charter flights from Canada to Santo Domingo, Samaná, La Romana, Punta Cana and Puerto Plata airports, from November 2017 to April 2018, corresponding to the fall/winter season.

Air Transat will offer 20 new routes from various Canadian cities including Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Hamilton, Fredericton, Regina, Windsor, Saskatoon, Quebec, Winnipeg and London.

“The approval of charter flights offering new routes from Canada to Dominican Republic confirms that we remain a destination with a lot of potential for market growth. We support these initiatives that are bringing us closer to the goal of 10 million tourists,” said Luis Ernesto Camilo, President of JAC.

Additionally, the Plenum of the Board approved the renewal of Permits of Operation for three years for United Airlines and Air France, to continue operating regular air transport services of passengers, cargo and mail on established routes to Dominican Republic.

United Airlines routes depart from Newark, Houston, Chicago and Washington, DC, while Air France operates from Paris to Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.
