SANTO DOMINGO, October 16, 2017. The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism announces the launch of their latest promotional campaign, Dominican Republic LIVE. The campaign is designed to show that the country’s most popular destinations are operating normally in the wake of Hurricane Irma and Maria, with the goal of dispelling any doubts of the conditions of the country’s main tourism attractions.

“We want travelers who are considering visiting to go ahead and book their vacations with complete peace of mind,” said Francisco Javier García, the Dominican Republic’s Minister of Tourism. “All of our airports, ports and highways have remained fully operational, so tourists can continue to experience all that our destinations have to offer and get, as per usual, the highest level of service.”

With a fresh and creative approach, Dominican Republic LIVE shows that every part of the country is in good condition, and that the tourism industry is ready to welcome travelers from around the world with its traditional enthusiasm and warmth. The campaign is being launched in English, Portuguese, French and Spanish.

Focusing on Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, La Romana-Bayahibe, Samaná and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic LIVE puts the tourist at the center of the campaign by having them share their testimonies and experiences from these five major destinations.

The campaign includes communications and marketing actions in the key tourism feeder markets for the Dominican Republic, such as promotional videos on digital platforms and social media, press trips and live broadcasting from the destinations.

The initiative aims to encourage people to visit the country by reminding them of what makes the Dominican Republic the No. 1 destination in the Caribbean.
