The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic through its Promotion Office in Montreal, was part of a list of more than one hundred countries represented in the SITV 2017.

_CTM6564(Montreal, November 8, 2017).-  Dominican Republic as a tourist destination was screened at the Place Bonaventure Exhibition Center, which hosted the 29th edition of the International Tourisme Voyages Salon last weekend, where thousands of Quebecois travelers received guidance on the next places they could visit in the winter holidays.

With the participation of more than 400 exhibitors from the tourism sector, including 100 countries and more than 250 tourist regions, the SITV 2017 received more than 36,000 visitors during the 20, 21 and 22 of October. As in previous years, its programming included free lectures and meetings with bloggers who shared their experiences and travel recommendations with the audience.

The offer of the Dominican Republic was enriched by the presence of several hotel chains: AMHSA Marina Hotels & Resorts, Be Live Hotels, Puerto Plata Village,  Sirenis Punta Cana and VH Hotels, as well as the representation of Sans Souci Ports, administrator of the port of Santo Domingo.

In addition to the promotion of the tourist product, the Dominican stand maintained a festive atmosphere with folkloric merengue presentations, tasting of typical dishes, Dominican coffee and rum, as well as artisan exhibitions that promoted the amber and “larimar” stones.

Among the activities developed at the stand, the DR offered sessions with virtual reality glasses that gave visitors the 360º immersion experience, for approximately two minutes traveling in various landscapes and activities from multiple regions of the country.
