The tourism board held informational sessions showcasing hotels and new offerings to travel partners and media

(Montreal, Canada. September 28, 2018).- Following last year’s success, the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic through the Tourism Promotion Office in Montreal has just completed a second edition of their popular training sessions, The Dominican Republic Specialist Seminars. Six presentations were held over three days in their downtown Montreal office and were well attended by travel agents and specialized travel media. The purpose of these sessions was to inform partners and friends of Dominican Republic about exciting updates to the country’s tourism products.

Conducted by the Director of the Tourism Promotion Office for the Dominican Republic, Cosette García, these training sessions are a great opportunity for those in the travel and tourism industry to familiarize the participants with the beautiful Caribbean destination. “Dominican Republic is a top destination for Canadians because of our world class beaches, resorts, family activities, the gastronomy experience and golf. Our country has something for everyone. For the explorer, we have cultural experiences and incredible ecotourism products, for families we have stunning resorts with top programming for children, for leisure goers we have some of the best musicians and DJ’s around the world coming showcasing in our venues, and for golfers, we have the Caribbean’s most extensive range of world-class golf courses.”, stated García.

New this year, the training sessions included presentations from some of the top hotels in Dominican Republic, including: Viva Resorts, Iberostar, Casa de Campo, AMResorts, Sirenis, Blau Hotels & Resorts, Hard Rock Punta Cana, Barceló Hotels & Resorts, Bahia Principe, Lopesan, Sea Horse Ranch and important Canadian travel partners such as Air Transat, Air Canada and Sunwing. Each hotel’s representative and travel partners had an opportunity to share news, images, and facts, and the presentations were followed by the opportunity of a Q&A for sales agents.

During the series of seminars, García announced the advances in the reinforcement of tools and actions of promotion, which includes an active and strategic presence in digital platforms and social networks, as well as the diversification of the tourist offer, manifesting the variety of these attractions found around the country.

This winter, travellers to Dominican Republic can expect to live some of the best experiences in the Caribbean and beyond. From night life to mountain biking to luxury spa experiences, there are endless activities to enjoy across the country.
