The new and the upcoming of Dominican Republic tourism was presented at great levels of creativity to replicate an authentic Dominican night for more than 200 travel agents, influencers and local opinion leaders.

(Orlando, Florida. October 19, 2018).- The rhythm of the Merengue shook the idyllic tropical paradise, Paradise Cove of Little Lake Bryan last Friday, where the Office of Tourism Promotion (OPT) ) of Orlando offered a display of flavor, culture and art while announcing important news of the main tourist destination of the Caribbean.

The party featured liquors, sounds and cultural elements of Dominican Republic, amidst tropical palm trees, a bonfire in beach sand, traditional buffet, complemented with a “Frio-Frio” cart of tropical drinks, like those seen on the streets of the country.

Upon arrival, guests were received with a Perico Ripiao musical group, accompanied by national folkloric dancers with festive attire typical of an authentic Dominican celebration. The renowned artisans and painters, Patricio Correa and Nicole Pou, together with the celebrated chef of the Dominican TV show, ¨Sazonando¨, Rosanna Ovalles, and the cigar maker, and tobacco expert Luis Rodríguez, traveled from the Dominican Republic for that occasion.

To enjoy all this, the guests took a seat in a rustic lounge overlooking the lake, adorned with exquisite tropical flowers. A fun and impressive show dinner-show type was responsible for the three-hour joyful the party.

The Band Street, with four dancers and modern merengue artists, known for their performances at many Disney venues, made the guests dance and smile, including Luis Martinez, Cultural Director of the City of Orlando, present on behalf of Mayor Buddy Dyer, who recognized the economic and cultural impact of the expansion of the airlift between the cities of Santo Domingo and Orlando. Also present was the President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, Mrs. Gabi Ortigoni.

Representatives of Ocean Blue & Sand and Apple Leisure Group, Barceló Hotel Group, Hodelpa and Spirit Airlines among others exhibited their products and offered complementary stays and air tickets for the raffles.

“Dominican Republic is a destination with growing and ascending stability for investors who bet on our destiny every day for the construction of new hotel projects such as: The Grand Reserve Melia, Ocean el Faro, Hyatt Zilara and Ziva, Lopesan Costa Bavaro, Cub Med in Miches, Moon Palace just to mention a few”, said Raquel Reyes, Director of the Orlando OPT.

During her presentation Ms. Reyes also highlighted the competitive advantages of the destination, shared with the attendees the new promotional campaign for the United States market “Smile”, and invited travel agents to make use of the available training tools through the RD specialization program (DR Specialist), which can be found by visiting GoDominicanRepublic.com.
