Plus fresh news about the favourite sun destination of 904,460 Canadian visitors for 2018.

(Montreal, QC, March 19, 2019) .- Dominican Republic again lit the Bell Center the past Tuesday, March 12, during the spectacular victory of the Montreal Canadiens over the Red Wings of Detroit. Spectators were able to dance to the rhythm of merengue, admire unique projections on the ice rink of the country’s beauty and even have the opportunity to win a trip for two in our destination.

To celebrate the 904,460 visitors to Canada last 2018, the success of the more than 80,000 hotel rooms for lodging options and the number of visitors to the country that increases steadily each year, the Dominican Republic set out to celebrate it in the most Canadian way possible: one extraordinary Dominican night during a hockey game.

For the third year in a row, the delights of the Dominican Republic thrilled visitors to the Bell Center where hockey fans enjoyed their fascinating demonstration of Dominican culture and legendary hospitality. In addition to promotional videos broadcasted during the match and digital advertising from different platforms, the Office of Tourism Promotion of the Dominican Republic in Montreal established a promotional kiosk, where fans could enjoy live music, a virtual reality experience and a chance to enjoy and dance with the talented Dominican dancers.

In addition to the different promotional activities of the evening, a contest was held on the Canadiens’ official website: four finalist winners were invited to Tuesday’s match and being chosen for the one-week draw for two in the Dominican Republic. A fifth finalist was selected during the first period, and the winner was presented live during the second period on the giant screens of the Bell Center.

“We invaded the Bell Center hockey arena on Tuesday night with all the joy of Dominican Republic, the warmth of our people and our smiles,” said Cosette Garcia, director of the Office of Tourism Promotion of the Dominican Republic in Montreal. “We dressed the whole center through its multiple digital screens with our images, with the aim of transporting more than 21,000 fans to our paradise. That Dominican night that celebrated the colors of the country was the driving force of innumerable smiles in the Rio Tinto space. Right at the main entrance of the Bell Center! ”

A happy spectator will be able to discover all the beauty of the Dominican Republic after receiving the prize of visiting the country for a week in an all-inclusive stay for two in Puerto Plata: gift given by García, representing the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic Dominican.
