This museum, cultural center and art school was founded by one of the greatest Dominican painters of all time, the late Cándido Bidó. Large murals mark the entrance to the center and gift shop. Calle Mella.

Bonao Carnival

Each February, in celebration of Carnival, Bonao features its own unique characters parading to the beat of the carnival drums on Sundays. Bonao carnival characters include the Santos de Palo, wooden representations of Catholic saints made by the artists who are grouped according to the saints they have created.

Casa Museo Tiburcio

Winner of two awards for sculpture in the prestigious E. León Jimenes Art Contest, Cristian Tiburcio has turned every single space in his own home in Bonao into a work of art, Gaudí style. Walls, staircases, windows, bathrooms, chairs, beds, even the kitchen cabinets are works of ceramic art. Calle Los Pinos 15.

Santos de Palo

Extraordinary award-winning artists exhibit their sculptures in precious wood in the style of 16th century Spanish artists. Visits to the artists’ workshops can be arranged at the center. La Gran Parada, Duarte Highway Km 89.
