Guavaberry Golf & Country Club
Designed by Gary Player, the 18-hole course borders a nature reserve. Although it quickly earned a reputation as a tough course, it is playable for golfers of all skill levels thanks to five sets of tees.
Located at the Metro Country Club in Juan Dolio–just 30 minutes’ drive east of Santo Domingo’s international airport–the 18-hole course features numerous artistic bunkers, and lakes and mounds that perfectly complement the surrounding beauty of the Caribbean Sea. Opened in 1995 and designed by Charles Ankrom, the course winds through a gated residential community, and includes the Academy of Golf, a driving range, putting green and 18-hole mini-golf course. The clubhouse also offers a restaurant, a terrace bar and grill, a swimming pool with Jacuzzi, a golf shop and locker rooms. A private beach blub is just five minutes away.
