Sculpted entirely of stone, Altos de Chavón —a model 16th century Mediterranean village—is a delightful place to tour for its charming medieval feel, including plenty of shopping, fine dining, and bars.
For a small seaside village, Bayahíbe packs a solid punch in nightlife, from sunset beachfront bars to a pulsating dance scene on the weekend. The fishing town is as alive at night as it is during the day. A handful of beachfront bars are popular spots for happy hour with a cocktail or two at sunset, and continue late into the night. The local colmado or corner store—doubling as a bar—also gets going early as 6pm with merengue and bachata echoing into the village while the crowds dance outdoors. Nightclubs are also popular within the hotels along Dominicus beach.
